woo hoo - i have a job! i am currently filling in the position of 'web developer' until tomorrow, then i become a utility-type IT person (not sure what my new title will be!)- learning asp.net, helping out with the creation of an online learning site and continuing on with any database-related work and any programming required for the company's website, since the new web developer doesn't have as many programming skills as me. hopefully my job will involve some travelling as we have offices in Melbourne and throughout NSW. i am so happy to be working at last - such a huge relief to be earning money so i can 'fend for myself'.
i have to save up a lot of money to pay back my hecs debt of around $25000 and also to save up to buy a house. it's a huge step towards independence - now i just have to get my driver's licence!
haven't been up to much - had a really horrible virus that's doing the rounds last week - i had stomach pains, a temperature and a headache and very frequent trips to the toilet! i had 2 days off work, plus a public holiday, so i only worked for 2 days but i felt like shit for a whole week. not fun. to make matters worse, we haven't had a vacuum cleaner for 3 weeks as it's getting repaired and we're getting the bathroom fixed at home (after the tiles literally exploded off the ground!) so there's dust everywhere. i found out that i'm allergic to dust at the start of the year and it seems to be getting worse. i have asthma-type symptoms which has been quite scary for me as i have never had problems with my lungs. thankfully most of our house is floorboards so they can be cleaned with a mop, and we are able to borrow our neighbour's vacuum cleaner, although it's not very good.
sunday i went bowling and i got 'star of the week' for bowling 53 above average in a game the week before. i've improved heaps since i got my own ball - it's green, blue, purple and pink swirls - very funky!
